Boom

I woke up to thunder so loud the house shook, and the dogs barking in terror. I even shouted, “I’m awake!” as I bolted upright. The thunder kept rumbling. After a while, it started to pour, that dramatic outpouring of water from a sky rebelling against the summer heat.

The weather forecasts right now seem like they’re for another region. They claim this is ‘partly cloudy’ and later today it will clear up and climb into the 80s again.
