As a partially-reformed robot girl, I totally know where you are coming from. And oh my god having a baby is a terrifying, ridiculous, stupid thing to do. But it's also THAT wonderful. And it only gets freakier once they can walk and want to do things. It's a hard balance to find, measuring out how much anxiety is useful and how much is harmful... letting them go and holding them tight just the right amounts.
