I stayed home Friday to play CoP. I had a great time exploring with Raymond, truly wonderful, even though I died twice. I also started the CoP story over the weekend and was impressed by what I was able to see. I’m sure I’ll talk more about it in other posts.
Over the weekend, I did chores and played FFXI. I also started La Pucelle, a playstation game. The pre-Thanksgiving countdown cleaning included taking out lots of trash and cleaning off the misc. table near the hall. I set up the Middle-Earth chessboard on it afterwards, so it wasn’t so empty.
Monday, I woke up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps and subsequently didn’t go to work on Monday morning. Monday night, I didn’t sleep at all, but not from illness, so I went to work Tuesday anyhow, but didn’t get anything done.
Wednesday and today I’ve been doing software install/configs at work. Mind numbing.
Tuesday after work, I bought The Sims 2. It was semi-spur-of-the-moment but I felt strongly enough about it that I didn’t bother waiting for Kevin’s feedback before making the purchase (which I often do if I’m unsure if something is a good idea). I played that Tuesday and some of last night and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. I was never a big Sims fan– I liked it, but I liked the housebuilding and furnishing a lot more than I liked the gameplay of running a little family. So far I’m enjoying this but I have no idea if it will last. Playing it the last two nights has really encouraged my dreaming brain though.
Oh, I think I watched Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow sometime last weekend. Maybe on Thursday? I really really liked it. A clever film, with some amusing symbolism.
I’ve been working on a GURPS 4th edition game to run for Kevin, Jenna, and Kirby (and maybe Raymond when he moves up here). I like it but it’s been hard to get motivated to do all the nitty-gritty work.
I got updated menus from Aquaknox by calling them. I poked at the wedding budget. I need to call the coordinator tomorrow and schedule the rehearsal and ask her some questions.
